Is It Too Broad To Brand Myself A Sales/Marketing Person?

Q. I’ve done both sales and marketing before. Should I brand myself as a sales and marketing person, on my resume and then my LinkedIn profile?

A. That is a very broad brush unless you are holding yourself out as a person to help a small organization get its sales and marketing function up and running.

Once a company grows to any size, they will have different people doing sales and marketing, and then specific people doing PR, marketing communications, product marketing, business to business sales, business to consumer sales, reseller sales, and all sorts of other variations.

Think about what you want to do most and what you are best at – and where you see the greatest need in the talent marketplace!
